Promoting Emotional Strength and Healing in Teens

Individual Teen's Counseling And Therapy

I love working with teens and supporting them through the many changes and challenges that come with this stage of life. Being a “practicing adult” can be full of big emotions including stress, irritability, anxiety, and mood issues. Therapy offers a safe, comfortable space where teens can talk openly, feel understood, and be themselves without fear of judgment.

Adolescence is a time when relationships begin to change and take on new meaning with friends, family, and even with oneself. In therapy, I support teens as they navigate friendships, family dynamics, boundaries, communication, and peer relationships. Together, we explore how relationships impact emotions, confidence, and identity, while building skills for healthy connection, self-expression, and mutual respect.

Therapy offers a safe space for teens to better understand themselves in relationships and develop the tools they need to build strong, supportive connections now and in the future. Together, we work toward greater self-awareness, confidence, and resilience, so teens feel more supported, capable, and hopeful as they move forward growing into adulthood.

What To Expect

Your first therapy session (Intake) is a chance for me to get to know you your story, your experiences, and what brings you to therapy. This helps me create a plan that’s just right for you. Teens are welcome to have a parent or caregiver attend with them if they would like. This can be helpful in providing some historical information.

In the sessions that follow, we focus on exploring your thoughts and feelings, setting goals, developing coping skills, and working through life’s challenges. My hope is to support and encourage you as you grow and change, offering a safe & welcoming space where you can share openly, be heard, and feel understood. Sessions usually last 53 to 60 minutes. Typically we meet weekly for the first 6-8 sessions and go from there depending on your needs and progress.  Sometimes, I might suggest small “homework” activities to practice new skills between sessions. Teens might request to include their parent(s) or caregiver(s) from time to time or parents might request a session with me.

Your privacy is always my priority. Everything you share in therapy stays confidential, and I follow strict ethical guidelines to protect your trust and safety. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, comfortable, and supported.
